Alicia Freese Named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Senior Alicia Freese ran away from the competition to win the individual title at the 2009 SCIAC Cross Country Championships and lead her team to an unexpected second place finish Saturday, October 31 at Prado Park in Chino. Freese waited patiently in second place for the majority of the 6000 meter (3.7 mile) race before pulling away in the last 400 meters to win by 11 seconds in 22:42. With her win, Freese earns SCIAC Runner of the Year honors to go along with the same honor she won in 2007 as a sophomore.
