2009 Season Preview
2009 Pomona-Pitzer Women's Track & Field
Pomona-Pitzer's women's track and field team is in the starting
blocks for the 2009 season. "We're looking forward to starting
practices in mid-January, and then starting our competitive
season in mid-February," said Head Coach Kirk Reynolds. "Our
coaching staff has a season's worth of great
workouts planned. It's going to be a terrific season."
The Sagehens look to improve on their fifth place finish in SCIAC
last season. The squad will be led by All-SCIAC returnees
Connie Cheng (100, 200, Long Jump, Triple Jump) and Ellie
Chestnut (Hammer and Javelin).
"We have some strong veterans returning to the team," continued
Coach Reynolds. "And we're excited about some newcomers to the
team who will really make an immediate impact at the
conference level and beyond."
Pomona-Pitzer begins practices January 20, and will host its
season opening College All-Comers meet on the blue Strehle
Track on February 21.
