Katie Shannon enters her first season as head women’s lacrosse coach at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. Katie has spent the last two years coaching at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
For the 2008-2009 season at Emerson College as co-head coach, Katie helped lead the Lions to their fist Greater Northeast Atlantic Conference regular season title. Emerson went on to win the GNAC tournament championship. The 2008 – 2009 season was capped with five players making the GNAC All-Conference Team and one player making the All-Region Team.
A Native of
Massachusetts, Coach Shannon graduated from Stonehill College in
2004 with a degree in communications. While attending Stonehill,
Coach Shannon was a First Team Defensive All-American and in 2002,
the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year. During her junior
year, she helped Stonehill to their first Division II National
Championship.
Upon graduation, Shannon went on to become the assistant
coach for King Philip high school, leading the team to their fifth
consecutive Hockomock League title. Coach Shannon just completed
her master’s degree at Emerson College in Visual Media Arts.
