Despite a strong start, the Pomona-Pitzer softball team fell twice to the 2007 Division III National Champions, Linfield College, 7-1 and 11-0.

After falling 4-2 Whittier College in the first game of the double-header, the Pomona-Pitzer softball team came back in the second game, showcasing their power as all three senior captains hit homeruns to lead the team to a 8-7 extra inning victory.

Calderon's Walk-off Homerun Leads Sagehen Comeback
Trailing 10-2 in the third inning, the Pomona-Pitzer softball team proved Saturday that they are not a team that will ever give up. In what turned out to be an epic three-hour game, the Sagehens took the Regals into extra innings and ultimately won 12-11 in the bottom of the ninth on a walk-off homerun by Christine Calderon (PO 09).

Softball Weekend Update
After a demoralizing 11-1 loss in the first of two games against the University of La Verne on February 21, the Pomona-Pitzer softball team came back to win the second game 3-0, gaining their first win of the season and defeating last years SCIAC Tournament Champions.

About the Program
The Pomona-Pitzer womens softball team has a history of success, starting with the programs inception in 1990. Since that first season the Sagehens have gone on to establish themselves as one of the teams to watch in SCIAC.
