Water Polo Update
This week, the Pomona-Pitzer men's water polo
team completed their regular season, and are preparing for the
SCIAC tournament coming up this weekend (11/13-15) at CMS.
The Hens won their final two pool matches, and are seeded #3 in
the SCIAC tournament. This past week the Sagehens faced off against
La Verne, Concordia-Irvine, and Cal Lutheran.
Against La Verne, Pomona-Pitzer won handily (13-4), then lost a
close game to Concordia-Irvine (11-8), and defeated Cal Lutheran
(8-5) in an exciting game. Against the Kingsmen of Cal Lutheran,
Pomona-Pitzer started off poorly, falling behind 0-3 in the first
quarter, but the Hens rallied, tying the game up in the third
quarter and emerging triumphant in the end. Versus Cal Lutheran,
freshman Jason Cox led the scoring with 4 goals, followed by Mark
Hudnall (2), Ben Hadley (1), and Jason Henshall (1), while
sophomore goalie Kyle Pokorny stood strong on defense with 7 blocks
against the Kingsmen.
