Men's Tennis: No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer Defeats Bates 6-3

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer men's tennis team defeated Bates 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.

The Sagehens started the day out behind on the scoreboard as Bates was able to take two of the three doubles matches. Pomona-Pitzer was able to get its win in the No. 3 doubles with the team of Antony Bello and Kalyan Chadalavada getting an 8-6 victory.

Pomona-Pitzer found its success in the singles matches as they took five of the six matches. Jake Yasgoor started the matches out with a win in the No. 1 spot by the score of 6-3, 7-6.

Jonathan Kim followed up in the No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win and Bello went on to win the No. 4 spot with a 6-0, 6-4 victory.

Pomona-Pitzer ended their day with Sam Malech taking home his singles match in the No. 5 spot with a 6-2, 6-3 win and Marko Mandic capped the day off with a 6-3, 7-5 win in the No. 6 singles.

With that win the Sagehens move to 3-3 on the year and next take the court against Mary Washington on March 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
