Men's Tennis Takes 7-2 Win Over Caltech

Pasadena, Calif. - The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team swept doubles and received wins from four freshmen in singles as it captured a 7-2 win over Caltech on Saturday.

With the win, the Sagehens are now 10-5 on the season, including 2-0 in the SCIAC, while Caltech falls to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in league play.

Jake Yasgoor, Graham Maassen, Anthony Bello and Spencer Simonides took singles decisions for the Sagehens. Yasgoor played his first match at No. 1, Maassen played at No. 2, Bello took a three-set decision at No. 4, and Simonides (pictured) won his first singles match of his young career at No. 6.

Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on Friday, when it hosts No. 15 Redlands for a 2 p.m. match at the Pauley Tennis Complex in a key SCIAC match.
