Men's Swimming and Diving: Sagehens Defeat Chapman and Whitman

ORANGE, Calif. -- The Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming and diving team defeated Chapman 241-40 and defeated Whitman 220-67 on Saturday morning on the campus of Chapman University.

Pomona-Pitzer dominated the competition as they finished in first place in 15 out of the 16 events.

The Sagehens started off the day winning the 200 Yard Medley Relay with the team of Samuel To, Teddy Koerner, Daniel Villars and Adrian Hui clocking in at 1:36.86.

To also went on to finsih in first place in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 1:59.97 and won the 200 Yard Butterfly at 1:57.73.

Jack Swanson won the next event for Pomona-Pitzer as he finished the 1,650 Yard Freestyle in 16:49.93.

Mark Hallman won the 200 Yard Freestyle in 1:44.54, won the 100 Yard Freestyle clocking in at 47.60 and won the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:51.53.

Erik Garcia won the 100 Yard Backstroke clocking in at 53.89 and also won the 200 Yard Backstroke at 2:01.97. 

Koerner came back to win the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:00.81.

Hui finished in first in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a 21.63 and won the 100 Yard Butterfly at 52.86.

Kyle Dalrymple took first place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke clocking in at 2:14.90.

Pomona-Pitzer swept the diving competition as Jeremy Goldberg won the One Meter Dive with a finla score of 180.85 and won the Three Meter Dive with a 164.35.

The Sagehens finished the day with a win in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with the team of Hu, Clayman, Garcia and Hallman with a time of 1:26.91.

The Sagehens next hit the pool on Saturday, January 16th at 11 a.m. as they travel to Redlands.
