Men's Swimming and Diving: Sagehens Defeat No. 18 Ranked WPI In Dual Meet 174-114

CLAREMONT, Calif. -- The Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming and diving team defeated No. 18 ranked Worcester Polytechnic Institute in a dual meet 174-114 on Tuesday morning at Haldeman Pool.

Getting things started for the Sagehens was freshman Jack Swanson who placed first in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:06.76.

Sophomore Samuel To went on to win the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 53.86 and Freshman Adrian Hui won the 50 Yard Freestyle clocking in at 21.56.

The Sagehens went on to win four more individual events on the day with sophomore Mark Hallman taking the 100 Yard Freestyle in 48.47, freshman Erik Garcia won the 200 Yard Backstroke in 1:56.76, freshman Teddy Koerner won the 200 yard Breaststroke in 2:11.24 and Swanson taking the 500 Yard Freestyle clocking in at 4:54.01.

Pomona-Pitzer finished the day by winning the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with the team of Hui, To, Hallman and senior Phillip Clayman coming in at 1:25.84.

The Sagehens next hit the pool on Saturday, January 9th at 11 a.m. at Chapman.
