Men's Cross Country Wins in the Classroom

The Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Cross Country team has been
recognized by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country
Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for its academic excellence.
The USTFCCCA awarded the 2008 Men’s Cross Country program
with All-Academic Team recognition. This announcement comes
just days after Pomona-Pitzer runners, Brendon Randall-Meyer and
Torrey Olson, received individual All-Academic honors.
Receiving these team and individual awards help to shine a light on
our cross country program. They highlight the fact that our
running program has struck an appropriate balance between academic
and athletics, said head coach Tony Boston.
To be eligible for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, a team must
have compiled a score at the NCAA Regional Meet and have a minimum
team GPA of 3.10. Of the 103 teams that met the noted
criteria, Pomona-Pitzer was ranked first in the NCAA-West and tenth
nationally.
