About the Program

The Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Water Polo team has been playing on the Varsity level for over 40 years. Pomona-Pitzer is a member of the highly competitive SCIAC conference as well as the Western Water Polo conference which gives it’s winner a berth to the NCAA championships.

The team trains at Haldeman pool, a beautiful 50 meter Olympic size facility. The season starts August 29th  and goes until the WWPA Championships, in November. The Sagehens play 25-30 games a year against teams from Division I, II, and III institutions.

Head Coach Alex Rodriguez enters his third year as the head coach of an already successful program. Over the years the Sagehens have seen many All-Americans come through the program in addition to a good number of Academic All-Americans.

Consistently ranked in the DIII top ten polls, Pomona-Pitzer looks to improve over the next few years with it’s strong core of underclassmen and a renewed defensive intensity which was evident in the close of the 2005 campaign.
