Six Sagehens Receive Major Sports Awards
Six Pomona-Pitzer athletes were awarded the program's major sports awards in a campus ceremony on May 6, 2009. Senior Drew Hedman (baseball) and junior Siobhan Finicane (tennis) were named Most Valuable Athlete, senior Cameron Taylor (soccer/tennis) and junior Claire McGroder (soccer/track) were awarded for Athletic Excellence, and senior Kevin Kelley (football) and senior Becca Lange (tennis) were named Scholar-Athlete.

Sixteen Football Players Named to the Academic All-SCIAC Team
The following members of the Pomona-Pitzer 2008 Football Team were recently named to the SCIAC Academic All-League Team. Students must have a cumulative 9.6 or better at Pomona or a 3.2 or better at Pitzer and been a strong contributor to the team to have been selected.

Kevin Kelley Awarded Postgraduate Scholarship
Wide Receiver Kevin Kelley '09 was recently awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, one of only nine football players in the country from any division to receive such recognition.

About the Program
Football has a long and proud tradition at Pomona and Pitzer Colleges. Established in 1892 - five years after the founding of Pomona College - the football program has flourished for over a century.
