On Saturday Pomona-Pitzer was on the road against the University of Redlands. With just over seven minutes to play in the first half, Redlands held a 30-28 edge. Pomona-Pitzer's only basket in the last seven minutes would be three pointer by Justin Sexton, and by the intermission Redlands had pulled out to a 40-31 lead. With nine minutes to go in the game, the Sagehens took a slight 49-48 edge. Redlands answered with two free throws and held the lead into the final minute of play. Twice in the final minute Pomona-Pitzer had the ball trailing 61-60, but failed to get off a shot with both possessions ending in traveling calls. In the end, Redlands took home a 61-60 win over the Sagehens.
Following the game, senior Adam Chaimowitz said, "This is a real frustrating loss. They gave us a couple chances down the stretch, and we just weren't able to capitalize".
Senior Justin Sexton paced the Sagehens with 15 points, junior forward Shawn Stephan added 12, Chaimowitz chipped in with 11, and frosh Xavier Moss tallied eight. Senior Colin Reinstedt grabbed a game high 10 rebounds, while Sexton and frosh Donald Okpalugo pulled down eight boards apiece. Both teams finished with 38% shooting from the field, and Pomona-Pitzer held a slight 37-36 rebounding.
